late night cubanish croissants

Flakycroissants, savory ham, toasty cheese, sharp pickles and mustard make for agreat lunch or those pesky late-night cravings.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 large croissants
  • yellow mustard, to taste
  • mayonnaise, to taste optional
  • 12 slices deli ham
  • 4 slices swiss cheese
  • dill pickle slices, to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375F. Assemble the sandwiches. Slice the croissants in half lengthwise. Slather both sides with yellow mustard and a little bit of mayonnaise, if using. On the bottom half of each croissant, add 3 slices of ham, 1 slice of swiss cheese, and pickles, also to taste. Close the sandwiches and transfer to a baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sandwiches are warmed all the way through. Serve immediately.

Notes

Leftovers: Wrap tightly and refrigerate. Reheat in the oven at 350F for 10 minutes. Will keep for 4 days.
